Stephanie Whitney is the Director, Research & Innovation Partnerships in the Math Innovation Office. Prior to joining the Math Innovation Office, Stephanie was the Manager, Research Partnerships within the Office of Research Services at Wilfrid Laurier University where she facilitated partnership opportunities and stewarded the institution’s relationship with the Government of the Northwest Territories, led the governance of Laurier’s research centres and institutes, and provided oversight for the institution’s knowledge mobilization portfolio. Stephanie is a licensed Professional Engineer (’07) in Ontario, with over 15 years of experience establishing strategic collaborations with public- and private-sector stakeholders in applied interdisciplinary research projects across multiple sectors such as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, automotive, oil & gas, and energy distribution. She has provided a wide range of consulting services to support annual regulatory and voluntary reporting requirements for industrial clients in these highly regulated industries, and delivered strategic projects with an emphasis on implementing best practices, co-creating knowledge, and shared beneficial outcomes such as increased corporate and community climate resiliency. As an alumnus of UW (BASc `04, MEB `13, PhD `18), she is thrilled to support the Faculty of Mathematics in increasing its research profile and impact through intensified engagement with industry and government partners, as well as other external stakeholders.
