The President’s Advisory Committee on Student Mental Health (PAC-SMH) hosted a supporting panel symposium in the Village 1 Great Hall on the morning of Tuesday, October 24, 2017. The symposium provided panel members with another opportunity to meet, share information, and discuss questions and progress related to their specific panels.
Presentations were delivered by each panel that highlighted what they had learned so far, methods of information gathering used, discoveries that had surprised them, key pieces of information they still require, and next steps as they work towards a final report to be submitted by mid-December. You can view the panel presentations (PDF) and watch a recording of the presentations.
Representatives from each panel also participated in a Q&A Panel hosted by the Federation of Students in the SLC on the same day. Panel members delivered the same presentation they had given earlier and responded to questions from in-person audience members as well as online participants. Opening remarks were provided by Feds President Antonio Brieva, President & Vice-Chancellor Feridun Hamdullahpur, and PAC-SMH Chair Walter Mittelstaedt. The Q&A was moderated by Associate Provost, Students Chris Read.
