Alan
got
his
PhD
in
Electrical
and
Computer
Engineering
under
Professor
Zbig
Wasilewski's
supervision
in
2020.
Alan has a
BSc
degree
in
Physics from
the
Chinese
University
of
Hong
Kong (2007)
and
MSc
in
Physics
from
Hong
Kong
University
of
Science
and
Technology
(2009).Before
joining
the
QNC-MBE
group, Alan
participated
in
various
nano-photonics
and
biophysics
research
projects.
His
research
specializes
in
MBE
optimizations
of
various
III-V
optoelectronic
devices,
which
include
low
temperature
(LT)
GaAs
and
InGaAs-InAlAs
superlattice
(SL)
based
terahertz
photoconductive
antennas
(THz
PCAs);
GaAs-AlGaAs
based
terahertz
quantum
cascade
lasers
(QCLs)
and
two-dimensional
electron
gas
(2DEG);
InAlGaAs
based
photonic
power
converters
(PPCs).
