Elizabeth Monte wins Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation Medal for Academic Achievement

Monday, June 1, 2020

Congratulations to Nanotechnology Engineering’s Elizabeth Monte for winning a 2020 Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation Medal for Academic Achievement.

The award, bestowed to only one graduating student from each of Ontario’s 15 accredited engineering programs, honours the student who has achieved the highest cumulative grade point average in their graduating class.

Elizabeth was humble about her academic achievement, commenting that her high marks are a “natural by-product of wanting to master the material.”

Her advice to others wanting to improve their grades: “Start studying at the beginning of the term. Don’t wait until exam time to learn your course work.”

No doubt, Elizabeth is already back at her books. She is studying computational multiphysics while pursuing her master’s degree in UWaterloo’s Department of Chemical Engineering.
