2025
International Consortium for Freezing of Gait (ICFOG)
In June 2025, several members of the lab travelled to Atlanta, Georgia to share their work with fellow PD researchers at the inaugural ICFOG conference. Dr. Kaylena Ehgoetz Martens is one of the founding members of ICFOG, and along with many international collaborators, created this conference with the specific focus on the impact of freezing of gait (FOG) on people with Parkinson's.
All three members presented at the consortium. Dr. Ehgoetz Martens provided an up-to-date summary of the impact of anxiety on mobility in PD, complete with work from several lab members, notably, Pershia Norouzian. Dr. Erika Howe presented an update on an ongoing clinician-reported outcomes study (ClinRO) regarding FOG. Finally, Arthur Pinto presented a poster investigating the impact of postural threat on heart rate and heart rate variability on FOG in people with Parkinson's.
Dr. Howe presenting an update for the ongoing, multi-site ClinRO study (FOG-COA). She also helped lead a workshop later in the week, which focused on training clinical FOG raters.
The Freezing of Gait Clinical Outcomes Assessment (FOG-COA) gang -- what a wonderful opportunity to all be together in one room in Atlanta, USA for the ICFOG meeting of 2025!
