Chair members will deliver four oral presentations at this conference. See below for titles and short abstracts of the presentations:

University Research Session

Paper on the comparison of different corrosion control treatments for lead co-authored by the Chair team is available as open access

Pilot-scale comparison of sodium silicates, orthophosphate and pH adjustment to reduce lead release from lead service lines

Virtual Industry Partner Information Day: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 Outbreak as it Relates to Drinking Water Operations

This year Information Day for our partners was held virtually and was comprised of three different webinars. The first webinar was held on October 22nd and was facilitated by UW NSERC Chair Dr. Peter Huck. Guest speakers were Dr. Steve Hrudey (Professor Emeritus, Analytical & Environmental Toxicology, University of Alberta), and Ian Douglas (Water Quality Engineer, City of Ottawa).

WRF report published: Biological Filtration: NDMA Control or Source of Precursors?

The NSERC Chair was part of a US based team of researchers and consultants who collaborated on a Water Research Foundation project (WRF 4966) entitled, “Biological Filtration: NDMA Control or Source of Precursors?” The project has been completed and the final report has been published. WRF is an organization that facilitates research in all areas of drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and water reuse.
