The NSERC Chair was part of a US based team of researchers and consultants who collaborated on a Water Research Foundation project (WRF 4966) entitled, “Biological Filtration: NDMA Control or Source of Precursors?” The project has been completed and the final report has been published. WRF is an organization that facilitates research in all areas of drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and water reuse.

Thesis title: Investigating the Role of Water Quality on the Galvanic Corrosion of Lead in Hard Water with a Focus on NOM

Dr. Peter Huck has been inducted as a fellow of The Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE). The ceremony took place in Quebec, in conjunction with the Academy’s 2019 Annual General Meeting and Symposium. Nominated and elected by his peers, in view of his distinguished achievements and career long service to the engineering profession, Dr. Huck will provide strategic advice on matters of critical importance to Canada, as part of CAE.

The NSERC Chair group attended the 2019 Ontario’s Water Conference & Trade Show in May. This year the conference was held at Ottawa Shaw Centre in Ottawa, Ontario (May 6^th to May 8^th). Chair members delivered four oral presentations and one poster presentation at this conference.
