Welcome to the Orthopaedic Mechatronics Lab
The Orthopaedic Mechatronics (ORTHOtron) Laboratory in the Mechanical & Mechatronics Department at the University of Waterloo is focused on a multidisciplinary approach to develop and evaluate orthopaedic interventions, ranging from robotic manipulators to characterize bone-implant mechanics to wearable sensors for musculoskeletal rehabilitation monitoring.

Dan completed his MSc degree requirements with his seminar presentation on “Compensatory movement simulation of subacromial impingement syndrome kinematics using an asymptomatic group for rehabilitative shoulder exercises.” Congratulations Dan!

In collaboration with researchers at the Sunnybrook Research Institute and Polytechnique Montréal, professor McLachlin published a study that examined visualization of spinal cord tractography using diffusion tensor imaging.
