Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards wave two now open!
Advance your research career in Canada with the Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards (CIRTA), a prestigious new opportunity designed to support outstanding postdoctoral scholars working or studying around the world.
Wave one closed in March 2026, and Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (GSPA) is pleased to share that the second wave of the CIRTA program is now open, with an application deadline of May 8, 2026, 12:00 p.m. (noon) EDT. The University of Waterloo has three postdoctoral scholar allocations for wave two.
Successful scholars will receive $70,000 per year for two years. To be eligible, nominees can be of any citizenship (including Canadian) but cannot have a current affiliation with a Canadian institution and must be currently working or studying abroad; additionally, they must be eligible to be appointed as a postdoc under the University of Waterloo postdoctoral guidelines.
