Celebrating National Postdoc Appreciation Week 2025

Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (GSPA) is excited to celebrate National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) at the University of Waterloo for the tenth year from September 15-19, 2025.

Held each year in September and started by the National Postdoctoral Association, NPAW is dedicated to recognizing the many contributions that postdoctoral scholars make to research, innovation, and academic life. Since 2016, GSPA has hosted a variety of events and initiatives to celebrate Waterloo’s vibrant postdoc community.

All Waterloo postdocs are invited to participate in this year’s events:

  • Monday, September 15, 9:00 am – 10:30 am: NPAW Networking Kickoff  with Vivek Goel, University of Waterloo President and Justin Wan, Interim Associate Vice President, Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs

  • Tuesday, September 16, 2:00-3:00 pm: Yoga

  • Friday, September 19, 3:00 – 4:00 pm:  Happy Hour

With over 350 postdocs working across all faculties at Waterloo, postdocs are an essential part of Waterloo’s research and academic ecosystem.
