Launch of the Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards for Postdoctoral Scholars

Advance your research career in Canada with the Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards (CIRTA), a prestigious new opportunity designed to support outstanding postdoctoral scholars working or studying around the world.

On December 9, 2025, the tri-agencies announced the launch of the Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards (CIRTA), which will provide 400 postdoctoral research awards across Canada valued at $70,000 per year for two years. To be eligible, nominees can be of any citizenship (including Canadian) but cannot have a current affiliation with a Canadian institution and must be currently working or studying abroad, they also must be eligible to be appointed as a postdoc under the University of Waterloo postdoctoral guidelines.
