Achieve your full potential through knowledge translation, leadership and teaching.

University of Waterloo postdocs are invited to apply to join cohort 8 of the McCall MacBain Postdoctoral Fellows Teaching and Leadership Program, a free interdisciplinary professional development opportunity specifically designed for early-career researchers who are looking for ways to enhance their CV and explore opportunities beyond the postdoc.

Participants receive:

  • ISW (Instructional Skills Workshop certification)

  • Teaching experience opportunities (INSPIRE 3MP3 course)

  • Research impact and communication (OpEd Publication, 5MRT research talks)

  • EQI 2.0 Assessment, review and coaching

  • Professional profile development (CV development, Resume writing, headshot, impact video)

  • Education-based research projects

Informed by evidence-based research and best practices, the program is carefully tailored to assist postdocs in achieving their full potential and goals through the pillars of knowledge translation, leadership and teaching.

This is an in-person program that occurs weekly on Wednesdays at McMaster University from September 2026 through April 2027. Participants must fully commit to joining the program in person one day per week and have their supervisor's support. Lunch is provided at McMaster University, and support for travel expenses may be available, along with funding for the participant’s supervisor, to offset their time away from research activities.

Apply now! Applications are now open and are due by July 12.
