President's Remembrance Day message

Feridun Hamdullahpur, president and vice-chancellor of the University of Waterloo, issues the following statement to the University of Waterloo community. You can read the full statement, accompanied by a Remembrance Day photo gallery, on Facebook.

On the morning of November 11, 1918, a global war that claimed millions of lives drew to a close.

Feridun Hamdullahpur, president and vice-chancellor of the University of Waterloo, issued the following statement to the University of Waterloo community.

Today Canadians watched with grave concern as acts of violence transpired in our nation’s capital. The fact that these acts of violence were apparently aimed at fundamental institutions of our democracy, including the Parliament of Canada, makes them all the more shocking.

October 1, 2014 marked the launch of the University of Waterloo’s workplace campaign in support of the United Way.

This year President Hamdullahpur has set our target fundraising goal at $250,000 - a goal he knows our community can achieve if we all come together.

Watch the president's special message, distributed to all students, faculty, and staff the morning of October 1.
