The Humans of Waterloo Psychology team aims to amplify the voices of diverse and marginalized members of our own academic community through sharing their experiences with broad audiences. Inspired by Brandon Stanton’s @humansofny project, this initiative is designed to give members of the psychology department the opportunity to tell their stories in their own words. Our team members conduct interviews with members of our department, including students, faculty, staff etc., who belong to marginalized communities. We then share their journeys through our Instagram account (@humans_of_waterloo_psych) and other forms of storytelling.
HoWP team members can support this work by conducting and/or transcribing interviews, taking photographs of our interviewees, creating and disseminating the featured content.
