Your Spring 2020 Grades and Academic Standing

Your academic standing determines if you can proceed to the next term of study. Learn how to view your academic standing for spring 2020; it will be available in Quest September 15.

Deadlines for Adding and Dropping Fall 2020 Courses

Date reminders:

  • Reserves on most classes will be removed September 11.
  • The last day to add classes for fall 2020 is September 21.
  • The last day to drop a class with a 100% tuition refund is September 28.

New University-wide Academic Regulations You Need to Know

Effective September 1, 2020, several new academic regulations have been implemented for all undergraduate students (unless otherwise indicated below).

  • 50% Rule
  • Absence from Studies

  • Counting of Courses
  • Scheduled Pauses in the Academic Term

The Centre is open for walk-ins

The Centre has reopened to walk-in service starting today! The Centre can assist students with official documents, course registration, paying tuition, Promissory Notes, OSAP and financial aid, record updates, dropping off forms and more. The Centre hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and open until 6:00 p.m.

Academic Readiness Bursary now available to students

The new Academic Readiness Bursary provides assistance for students who are or will be registered in the fall 2020 term and who may incur costs related to studying remotely in the fall term, as a result of COVID-19. Applications must be received by September 30, 2020.

View your class schedule

Your fall 2020 class schedule is now available in Quest. See instructions on how to view your schedule.

Some fall term specifics you should know:

  • Choose "list" view to see all your courses in one place.
  • Courses offered in person will have a location assigned.
  • Courses offered online will not have a location assigned. Some may have scheduled times (to meet online); however, if you are unable to attend at those times, alternate arrangements can be made.

Fall 2020 graduation – Application to Graduate deadline

The deadline to submit an Application to Graduate for fall 2020 graduation is August 1.

  • Unsure if you're eligible to graduate? Submit your application now and contact your academic advisor.
  • Don't forget to review the Office of the Registrar's graduation checklist for additional action items.

Fall Final Examinations Announcement

We understand that many of you have questions about the fall Final Examination Period and what it might look like.

For now we can tell you:

  • The Final Examination Period is still occurring December 9-23, 2020.
  • Final examination rules and regulations remain unchanged.
  • In September, you'll find out which courses have a final examination from your instructor or when the final examination schedule is published.
  • For courses that will have final examinations, as determined by the instructor:
    • Online courses: Final examinations will occur online; no in-person exams permitted.
    • On-campus courses: Final examinations may occur in-person.

Update About Fall Course Registration Timing

As you know, we postponed the fall Course Selection Period. This allowed us time to determine plans for instruction for the fall term.

Revised course registration dates:

  • June 26 - July 9: Course Selection Period for returning students
  • July 29: View fall schedule and Drop/Add appointment times in Quest
  • August 4-5: Drop/Add Period begins with gradual appointments in Quest
  • August 6 to September 21: add period continues for all students
