Professor Derek Suderman concluded his sabbatical by attending the Society of Biblical Literature International Conference, held in Uppsala, Sweden, June 2025

Dr. Suderman delivered two scholarly presentations stemming from his ongoing research on the Psalms and Minor Prophets. His papers were titled:
“From ‘Revenge Fantasy’ to Challenging Hegemonic Power: The Rhetorical Function of Psalm 137 ‘By the Rivers of Babylon’ ” and “ ‘The King of Israel, the LORD, Is in Your Midst’: The Transitional Function of Zephaniah in the Book of the Twelve.”
