John You
MASc Candidate
John is an MASc student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at the University of Waterloo. He received his BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo with an option in statistics. Following his love for statistics and time series forecasting that he picked up in his undergraduate studies, John’s research focuses on automating the selection of model configurations for hydrological forecasting. His research leverages machine learning and state of the art black box global optimization methods. In the past, John has interned in a wide variety of industries including automotive, pharmaceutical and software.
