Monida is currently a Research Assistant and Graduate Researcher under the supervision of Dr. Amelia Clarke in the School of Environment, Enterprise, and Development (SEED) at the University of Waterloo, as well as the Social Media Manager for Impact Alliance, with experience in coordinating research activities and creating knowledge products for municipal capacity building. Her background in research, communications, and digital marketing informs her work ethic and adovcacy for local-level sustainability.
Monida is a passionate sustainability advocate keen on co-creating solutions through community-led development, capacity building, and knowledge sharing to enhance collaboration for achieving local-level sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She aims to build on her academic foundations in international development and sustainability management to foster collaboration that is inclusive, intersectional, intergenerational, and innovative.
Her research interests as a Master's candidate at the University of Waterloo revolves around mobilizing actors, particularly Multnational Enterprises (MNEs), for implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level to enable progress on a global scale.
Monida's career ambitions are to enhance research on SDG implementation through information sharing, capacity building and knowledge dissemination.
