Noura Limam received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the University Pierre & Marie Curie, Paris VI, in 2002 and 2007 respectively. She is currently a research assistant professor of computer science at the University of Waterloo. Formerly, she was a research fellow at POSTECH, South Korea and researcher at Ucopia Communications Inc., France.
Her contributions are in the area of network and service management. Her current research interests are in cognitive network management, network security, autonomic networks, and network softwarization. Her work was published in top venues in her research area including IEEE Network Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management (TNSM), IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, IFIP/IEEE Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS), IFIP/IEEE Symposium on Integrated Network Management (IM).
She is the Technical Program Chair of the IEEE ComSoc Network Intelligence (NI) Emerging Technical Initiative (ETI) since 2017. She served as guest editor of the 2020 JSAC special issue on Advances in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Networking, the 2020 special issue on Network Intelligence of the Computer Communications Journal, as well as the 2015 and 2014 special issues on Cloud Networking and Communications of the Computer Networks journal. She has been serving as reviewer for a number of journals (JSAC, TNSM, etc.) and on the Technical Program Committees of several IEEE and IFIP conferences. Also, she has served on the OC committees of a number of IEEE and IFIP conferences.
She is recipient of the 2008 IEEE Communications Society Fred W. Ellersick award and a Brain Korea 21 (BK21) Fellowship in 2010.
