Rachel earned her BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, during which time she spent many co-op terms in the lab and became interested in polymer science and engineering. She began investigating the use of polymer wastes for wastewater treatment applications in her undergraduate project and is now continuing this field of research in the MASc program. She hopes to work towards practical solutions to address sustainability issues through her research and to study interesting chemical structure-property relationships.
