Tobe grew up in Toronto and received his BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.  He has worked on battery impedance sensors, wastewater microplastic filtration and cellulose nanocrystal modification. His current research focuses on improving the sustainability and mechanical properties of rubbers with bio-based fillers. In his spare time, Tobe loves to play video games, paint, watch anime and go to the gym.
