Will comes from China and graduated with his BEng in Environmental Engineering and MSc in Polymer Chemistry and Physics. These interdisciplinary interests led him to pursue a PhD in Materials Science at Beihang University (BUAA), China, where he was working on the microstructure and mechanical behaviors of bamboo and its bio-composites. In Mekonnen’s lab, he is studying the modifications of rubbers and rubber-based bio-composites. In his free time, Will loves biking, long walks, ping-pong, basketball and spending time with his family.
