I am a master's candidate in Civil Engineering - Water.  My work aims to model emerging contaminants, such as pharmeceuticals, in wastewater systems. By combining population models, treatment plant models, and river models, we can predict how these contaminants spread throughout the Grand River.  Models like this can help inform efforts to protect our ecosystems from the increasing variety of contaminants we produce.
