Work Experience:

Research Analyst, Intern Biostatistician

Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto General Hospital                                                       05/2020-08/2024

  • Conducted over 10 projects and published 7 research papers collaborating with other principal investigators from the fields of radiology, oncology, and hematology.
  • Provided exploratory data analysis, data visualization, and statistical analysis based on a generalized linear model, survival analysis, causal inference, and longitudinal data analysis via SAS or R software.
  • Participated in clinical trial design, study protocols, sample size calculation, and hypothesis testing.
  • Made quality control and Genome-Wide Association Studies on genetic datasets.

 

Statistical Consultant

Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, University of Waterloo                                     01/2022-05/2022

  • Performed in-depth data analysis for collaborative researchers using linear regressions, hypothesis testing, experiment designs, and survival analysis.
  • Hold one-on-one meetings to provide statistical advice to university researchers on research projects.
  • Contributed to online tutorials for clients to explain generalized linear models and understand basic programming skills using R.

 

Teaching and Research Assistant, Undergraduate Student Mentor

  • Led the project as a mentor for undergraduate students and organized weekly meetings. Proposed the topic of the final project: Introduction to Missing Data Problem in Health Data.
  • Worked on three main projects related to causal inference and wrote manuscripts as the first author.
  • Developed organizational strategies as a head TA to prioritize grading, preparing tutorial materials, and one-on-one student sessions, ensuring all tasks were completed on schedule.
