Research and Teaching Interests

Broadly speaking, Tiffany is interested in children's social cognitive development. She is mainly interested in children's understanding of emotions and her primary research focuses on whether children can use probability to infer other people’s emotions. She also explores whether infants can predict people’s behaviours from their emotions, and young children's understanding of preferences. In addition to these research interests, she also studies how information about difficulty influences children's exploration and self-directed learning.
