On Monday September 7, 2015, a Wilfrid Laurier University student was walking northbound on King Street near Hickory Street, Waterloo when she was struck in the eye by a bb pellet. Her injuries are serious. Another similar incident occurred shortly after but no one was injured.
On Thursday September 10th 2015, a male was on the sidewalk in the area of Regina Street North and Hickory Street East in Waterloo. The male noticed a green laser like dot on the sidewalk flickering on and off. He also heard sounds of something striking the ground around him, believed to be pellets from a pellet gun. The male was not injured.
Police are reminding the public to be cautious in the area and to be aware of their surroundings.
