Break and Enter:
U.W.P.S. are investigating a break and enter to the Columbia Lake Plant –Ops greenhouse. Between the evening of Friday, Sept 19 and 6:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22 unknown suspect(s) broke into the greenhouse by forcing open a door. Once inside the place was ransacked and the windows were blacked out with spray paint. Several copper water pipes were cut out and removed. Other items taken:
o A wooden toolkit
o Metal toolbox with assorted tools
o Samsung Flip phone
o 2 Motorola 2-way radios
Suspicious Person:
U.W.P.S. are attempting to identify a suspicious male seen lurking around bike racks at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 18. The male was observed by police riding a bike along the Math roadway heading toward the SLC. The male avoided police and continued to ride towards the Tatham Centre. He was last seen riding across University Ave. onto Seagram drive:
- Suspect description: Male, white, approximately early to mid-30’s, thin build, appeared tall, thin face, scruffy facial hair, possibly tattoos on his arms/ legs. Wearing: black flat brim baseball cap, black t-shirt, shorts, biking gloves, backpack. Riding a metallic purple mountain bike
Police ask that anyone with information as to the identity of this male or any other suspicious looking person to contact U.W.P.S.
Thefts:
- Bikes (6):
o Between 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Sept. 16th
- bike rack outside DWE opposite entrance to Poets club, chain lock was cut, bolt-cutters found at scene
* Men’s’ Norco Wolverine 21-speed, silver
o Between 8:00 a.m. Sept. 13 and Sept. 16
- bike rack at north corner of Wellesley Court North, cable lock was cut
* ladies hybrid Blade, grey and light purple
o Between 1:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., Sept 17
- bike rack at S/E/ cul-de-sac outside REV. Front tire was secured to rack with U-lock, tire was still there, rest of bike was gone
* Men’s CCM mountain bike, orange
o Between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., Sept. 18
- bike rack outside PAS, cable lock cut
* Men’s hybrid Rock Mountain 21-speed, white
o Between 9:50 a.m. and 2:10 p.m., Sept 18
- North side of SLC near Subway restaurant, cable lock cut
* Men’s Giant mountain bike, grey and black
o Between 8:15 p.m. Sept. 19 and 8:14 p.m. Sept 21
- bike rack at east side of DC outside main entrance, cable lock cut
* Men’s Supercycle 21-speed mountain bike, 19” frame, black
