BICYCLE THEFT PREVENTION
The University of Waterloo Police Service is offering the following tips and strategies to prevent bicycle theft:
- Always lock your bicycle.
- Never leave your bicycle unsecured even "Just for a minute"".
- Always use a good quality "U" lock. For added protection, pair it with a good quality cable lock.
- Always lock your bicycle to a proper bicycle rack.
- Lock your bicycle in well-lit areas.
- Lock your bicycle to racks in high pedestrian traffic areas, when possible.
- Do not lock your bicycle in the same area, a thief may notice a pattern.
- Record your bicycle details and keep it sale:
- Make, Model, Speed, and Serial Number on Police Services Serial Number Reporting Form online.
- Report any suspicious activity, day or night, to UWaterloo Police at: 519·888-4911.
