About the Study
This study aims to improve our understanding of how early life experiences may influence the psychological resources firefighters use to cope with stress and trauma. Led by Dr. John Mielke and his research team, the study will explore whether adverse childhood experiences are linked to levels of perceived social support, emotional regulation, and self-efficacy. These are key cognitive resources that may affect how individuals respond to psychological trauma.
Your participation will help us investigate how personal background and life experiences relate to coping strategies and mental health, specifically among professional firefighters in Ontario and Alberta.
