Students walking through campus on a beautiful fall day.

Our survey questions are designed to improve our understanding of how students want to receive information, the channels they want to receive them in, the frequency and who the communication comes from.

We are seeking to understand UWaterloo students’ preferences, patterns and behaviours surrounding communications from the University, as well as how our communications make them feel.

In 2020, the student communication framework was developed to guide the way campus communicators compose content for students, including the language, tone and clarity of the chosen words, and how the information is delivered.

The framework was developed to improve consistency amongst communicators and to encourage thoughtful decision making on how and when we engage the student community through our channels.

So, what did our students tell us?
