Thank you for lighting our students’ way.

Vivek

As a monthly donor, you’re part of an impactful community that delivers a steady stream of support to Waterloo students, ensuring they have what they need to thrive every single day.

Last year, as our students returned to in-person studies and many continued their learning online, your financial support helped them find a sense of community and belonging, no matter what challenges they may have been facing.

Thanks to your generosity in 2022, we did even more to help students pursue learning and discovery in a safe and supportive space with enhanced access to resources for social, intellectual, spiritual and physical wellbeing. In our latest Impact Report, you’ll find a few of those success stories. As you read them, I hope you feel the gratitude of the countless students who benefitted from your gifts.

On behalf of the University, thank you for building a community that empowers each and every one of our students to achieve their highest potential.

With gratitude,

Vivek Goel, CM
President and Vice-Chancellor

I am so appreciative of the support the University of Waterloo gave my daughter while she studied there. I wanted to give back in some way. Monthly giving is perfect for me as I can give more in a year through small monthly gifts than I could at one time.

Monthly donations provide dependable funding to support innovative programs like the Waterloo Experience Accelerate Program, helping students acquire in-demand skills through work-integrated learning.

Waterloo set me up for success in my career, so I wanted to give back. But making a large gift each year isn’t feasible at this stage in my life. Monthly giving allows me to make gifts that fit my budget and support the area that means the most to me — the Faculty of Environment.

Monthly giving allows me to manage my giving much easier, ensuring that I support the funds most important to me with consistent giving. This also allows me to support special opportunities such as Giving Tuesday when they arise. I really encourage donors to use monthly giving as a way of being intentional with your philanthropy.

Making a difference together

Landon

One thing I always hear when I talk to Waterloo students about the support they receive from you, our generous monthly donors, is how good it feels to know their community has their back. On top of helping them manage life’s challenges, whether it’s paying the rent or taking care of their mental health, your collective generosity is confirmation that someone cares enough to help.

Another thing students consistently tell me — every little bit matters, no matter how big or small. Your dedication to providing a reliable source of funding is the ultimate gift. As a result of your kindness, countless students found the support they needed in 2022.

Thank you for being a valuable part of a community that cares.

Sincerely,

Landon Jennings
