Scott Morton

Scott is a sustainability scholar and a proud native of Waterloo Region. His current research and practice is focused on engaging entrepreneurs, governments, civil sector and scholars in the transformative work of creating low carbon communities in Canada. At his academic home base of University of Waterloo, he is leading a participatory action research project investigating a local decarbonization project in Waterloo Region, funded by Energy Council of Canada. He is also a research team member of the Governing and Accelerating Transformative Entrepreneurship (GATE) project. In the community, he helps to lead Climate Action Waterloo Region’s efforts to engage businesses and institutions in the development of innovative solutions to reduce local greenhouse gas emissions. In September 2017, he will begin a PhD of Global Governance in Environment at Balsillie School of International of International Affairs in Waterloo.
