Interactive Content in LEARN: Creator+ and the Instructor Experience

When? April 14, 2025, 10am-11am EDT

Location: Online, Microsoft Teams

Note that the Teams link will be sent out via email upon registering.

Description:

Creator+ is D2L's next iteration of its engagement features on LEARN. Creator+ offers instructors the tools needed to elevate the online student learning experience. Instructors can use Creator+ to seamlessly integrate interactive digital course content into LEARN and allows students to work in the LEARN system with dynamic elements. Creator+ offers the integration of practice exercises, interactive components, and video recordings directly within the LEARN system. Creator+ also utilizes GenAI to help develop quiz questions via its Lumi tool, and is exploring the integration of H5P (another interactive content creation tool) directly in LEARN.

Join us as three instructors – Dr. Emily McLaughlin (Kinesiology), Dr. Amit Mehta (School of Accounting and Finance), and Dr. Brendan Riggin (Recreation & Leisure Studies) – share how they have used Creator+ in their courses. You’ll have the chance to see examples of Creator+ used in courses at UW, hear about the experiences of these instructors, and ask questions about how it could be used in your own courses.

Please note that Creator+ is still currently a pilot at UW. If you’d like to sign up to try it in your own courses, please complete an expression of interest form.
