John Harris received a PhD in Computer Science following a BASc at the University of Waterloo and MSc at the University of Calgary. An avid video game player from childhood, John’s research focused on the design of asymmetric games that provide uniquely engaging facets of interaction for players with different interests, abilities, and backgrounds. For example, getting grandparents playing with grandchildren, the able-bodied with the disabled, or action gamers with puzzle gamers and strategy gamers with sports players. John’s gamers leverage asymmetry and interdependence to create more social, playful, and engaging experiences.
