We are pleased to announce the Tri-University Graduate Program in History invites submissions for its annual conference: “Conflict, Cooperation, and Commemoration: Examining Interactions in the Past.”
2024 Theme
This year’s theme foregrounds the interactions between historical figures and events and the memorialization of those actions and reactions. As historians, engaging in conflict and cooperation is a pillar of historical research and the processes that create the subject matter for our research.
2024 Paper Details
Papers and panels dealing with a with a variety of historical themes, periods, and perspectives will be accepted. We encourage submissions that address but are not limited to the following themes, including:
- Reconciliation and Reparation
- Gender and Sexuality
- Legal Boundaries and Authority
- Migration and Diasporas
- Religion
- Warfare
- Economics
- Trade and International Relations
- Culture and Identity
- Political Movements and Activism
- Indigeneity and Cross-Cultural Connections
Submission requirements
Interested applicants are invited to submit proposals for individual papers, panels, or round tables. Please include an abstract of 250 words and a short biography of 150 words.
- Single papers: Individual papers will be added to miscellaneous panels
- Panels: Student organized panels will be accepted. Please include your panel title and panelists. If you have a chair member in mind you can also indicate that in your application.
- Round tables: Student organized round table topics can be submitted.
Submission deadline
January 31, 2024 extended to February 9, 2024.
