Join graduate History students from the Fall 2023 Scottish Highland and Lowland History course as they present a class colloquium. They will highlight innovative research using unique, hand-written travel diaries that form part of the University’s renowned Scottish Studies Collection.
The University of Guelph Library is well known for its extensive Scottish Studies Collection that is the largest in the world outside the United Kingdom. Significant records are in the holdings of the Scottish Tourism Collection, which spans the seventeenth century to the mid-twentieth century. The collection consists of printed books, manuscripts, ephemera, and photographs and is a rich resource for exploring cultural, social, and economic dimensions of travel history.
