Dr. Neil McGuigan, adjunct faculty at University of St. Andrews, will give a lecture that provides an overview of his book, Máel Coluim III, 'Canmore': An Eleventh-Century Scottish King. He will focus on its origins and aims, along with a summary of some of the main problems tackled and some of the solutions and conclusions offered. The talk will also try to provide a broader picture of Malcolm III's importance to Scottish history.
The Frank Watson Book Prize is a bi-annual award. The 2023 award is is for the best book or monograph on Scottish History published in 2021 and 2022.
