During the first week of classes in the Tri-U, students are invited to orientation sessions that introduce them to varying aspects of their program. The incoming group of students who are based at Wilfrid Laurier University (images above) met on Wednesday, September 7 in the afternoon on campus. Later that day, they were invited to the graduate coordinator's home, Dr. Blaine Chiasson, for snacks and the chance to meet each other and some of their faculty. It was wonderful to hold events in-person after two years of virtual gatherings during the pandemic.

At the University of Guelph, orientation activities also took place in person on the 7th of September. The University of Waterloo incoming cohort met on Friday, September 9 both in person and virtually. They also gathered outdoors in the nearby Waterloo Park for snacks and an opportunity to meet professors.

In 2022-23, the Tri-U welcomed 8 new PhD students and hosts about 80 incoming and continuing MA students among the three universities: University of Guelph, University of Waterloo, and Wilfrid Laurier University.
