Anne says she is, "a contemporary pop culture obsessive which is why my MRP will involve taking a good, long look at MTV in the 1990s and how it shifted our relationship to celebrities/politicians." In her non-academic life, Anne is a freelance culture writer for CBC Arts, Macleans, and The Globe and Mail. She has also written for places like MTV News, Esquire, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, and Nylon. In 2018 she released her national bestselling book of essays, Nobody Cares (ECW Press). She tries to write at least one Substack newsletter a month. (Keyword: "try.")
