Antonio is a Brazilian PhD student in History at the University of Guelph, specializing in the intersection of History and video games. His research is highly interdisciplinary, drawing on Digital History and Global History to develop innovative approaches in pedagogy. Specifically, he investigates how these digital tools can be effectively integrated into the classroom to transform students' engagement with, and critical understanding of, the past. This work aims to bridge academic research with practical educational applications.
Prior to his doctoral studies, he specialized in the study of Japanese popular culture, memory, and the representation of the Second World War, a field in which he has published several peer-reviewed articles and two book chapters.
Through the University of Guelph, he is the recipient of several scholarships. These include the University Graduate Scholarship (UGS), the International Doctoral Tuition Scholarship (IDTS), the Board of Graduate Studies Research Scholarship (BGSRS), and the Carole Stewart Arts Graduate Scholarship.
