Emma is a first year History MA student at Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating in 2025. During her undergraduate studies, she was named a 2024–2025 Copp Scholars recipient and worked with the Laurier Centre for the Study of Canada to help develop a digital archive for the Canadian Industrial Heritage Centre. Emma's research interests include animal, environmental and Indigenous history. Her proposed MRP research focuses on how race and gender shaped women’s historical participation in veterinary medicine in Canada. Through this research, she hopes to uncover how systemic barriers influenced women’s entry into the profession and how veterinarians’ roles in animal, human, and environmental health intersected with broader social and cultural changes.
