Ann Weston is a Senior Program Specialist in the Education and Science program at Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC). The program supports research to ensure children and youth from vulnerable populations benefit from high-quality education, and women’s leadership in science through programs such as the Early Career Women Science fellowships granted by the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). Besides gender in STEM, her focus is on strengthening the capacity of science and innovation and actors in LMIC’s to fund, manage, and use research for development tailored to national and regional priorities. Before joining IDRC in 2010, she was Vice-President at the North-South Institute in Ottawa, and previously worked at the Overseas Development Institute and the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, UK.
