Dr. Dawit Mekonnen is a Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in the Environment and Production Technology Division. Dawit is currently based in IFPRI’s headquarters in Washington, DC. His research interests include understanding the different aspects of the water-energy-food nexus; the economics of water resources; the impact of irrigation on agricultural productivity, nutrition, health, and women’s empowerment; and impact evaluation of development projects. Dawit holds a PhD in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Georgia, and M.Sc. and B.A. degrees in Economics from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia.
