In light of heavy rain forecasted in the upcoming days, Water Institute member and Head of the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation, Blair Feltmate shared residential basement flood prevention tips with Kitchener Today. Feltmate called residential basement flooding the "number one cost” due to climate change in Canada, while also being one of the most easily solved challenges.
The Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation has assembled a quick summary of several home flood protection tips to reduce the risk of home flooding and lower the costs of cleanup if flooding occurs.
