Researchers in a swamp.
Researchers in the Ecohydrology Research Group, lead by CERC Chair in Ecohydrology Dr. Philippe Van Cappellen, will be flooding the Beverly Swamp this week as part of a large scale study. The wetland is located in the Flamborough area and spans three watersheds. The area has been highly instrumented to collect data during the flood event and beyond and researchers will be on hand around the clock the first few days to oversee the flood and collect additional data. Dr. Van Cappellen and colleagues are excited at this opportunity to study the ecosystem in the days and months after the flood and what it will reveal about the ecosystem's responses to changes in hydrologic and climatic conditions.
