The
Southern
Ontario
Water
Consortium
(SOWC)
is
searching
to
fill
three
positions
which
serve
to
support
consortium
operations.
The
positions
are: Industry
Coordinator,Communications
Coordinator,
and Office
Manager
and
Assistant
to
the
Operations
Manager.
The
goal
of
SOWC
is
to
create
a
platform
for
world-leading
research
as
well
as
testing
and
development
of
water
and
wastewater
technologies
at
a
watershed
level.
A
partnership
involving
eight
universities,
private
sector
companies,
municipalities,
and
not-for-profit
organizations,
the
consortium
will
advance
water-related
technologies
and
help
bring
them
to
the
marketplace.
The
$50-million
consortium
has
been
made
possible
with
funding
contributions
from
the
Federal
Economic
Development
Agency
for
Southern
Ontario
(FedDev
Ontario)
through
its
Technology
Development
Program,
and
the
Ontario
government.
IBM
Canada
is
the
consortium’s
major
corporate
partner,
and
additional
funding
will
come
from
the
participating
universities
and
other
private-sector
partners.
