The editors of two leading international water economics journals, Water Resources and Economics and Water Economics and Policy, have joined forces to launch a new online seminar series named SWELL.
The editorial team including Erik Ansink and Roy Brouwer from Water Resources and Economics and Ariel Dinar from Water Economics and Policy explain that the goal of SWELL is to provide a platform for dissemination of water economics research so it is easily accessible to scholars around the world.
Since water economists are dispersed widely over the globe and do not often have the opportunity to meet in person, an online seminar series is an attractive way of sharing research, especially now with the influence of COVID-19 changing the way we connect.
The seminars will be organized weekly every Tuesday at 11:30 AM eastern time (5:30 PM CEST), starting on Tuesday, April 28. The seminar schedule is available on the SWELL website.
The inaugural seminar will take place on April 28 featuring Eric Edwards from North Carolina State University, entitled Global groundwater governance: Economic framework and cross-country comparison.
On May 6, Sheila Olmstead from the University of Texas at Austin will present The value of water quality: Estimating amenity and recreational benefits.
