Philippe
Van
Cappellen,
Water
Institute
Member,
Professor
in
Earth
and
Environmental
Sciences,
and CERC
Chair
in
Ecohydrology,
has
been
selected
to
will
receive
the
2015
Science
Innovation
Award
from
the
European
Association
of
Geochemistry.
This
award
is
bestowed
to
scientists
who
have
recently
made
a
particularly
important
and
innovative
breakthrough
in
geochemistry.
The
2015
award
is
named
after
Werner
Stumm,
who
was
Philippe's
postdoctoral
advisor
at
the
Swiss
Institute
for
Aquatic
Sciences
in
the
1990s.
The award consists of an engraved medal, an honorarium (1000 Euros), a certificate and inclusion as a Geochemical Fellow. Philippe will receive the award at the Goldschmidt meeting in Prague next August and he has donated the 1000 Euros back to the EAG in support of their science outreach activities. Congratulations Philippe!
