Water Institute member, Professor and Canada Excellence Research Chair Laureate Philippe Van Cappellen has been selected to receive an Award of Excellence in Graduate Supervision this year from the University of Waterloo. Prof Van Cappellen was nominated for the award by his current and former graduate students and the nomination was supported by senior colleagues at the University of Waterloo. Nominations were reviewed by a Selection Committee comprised of faculty members from each of the six Faculties, as well as members representing the Graduate Student Association, Faculty Association and Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs. The award will be presented at spring convocation on June 18, 2020.
The Award of Excellence in Graduate Supervision was initiated by Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs and the Graduate Student Association at the University of Waterloo in order to recognize achievement in advising and mentoring graduate students.
