The University of Waterloo and the Water Institute are pleased to announce a $1.75 million, eight-year commitment from the RBC Foundation. The gift will support the development and implementation of the new collaborative Integrated Water Management (IWM) graduate program that will be available to students beginning this fall. The majority of the funds will be for scholarships (120 over eight years). Other areas of support include a visiting fellowship, student symposium and enrichment activities.
Dr. Robert Gillham, Executive Director of the Water Institute, was among the speakers at the announcement, commenting that "RBC's generous gift allows us to establish a program that gives graduates a foundation in water science, engineering, technology and management above and beyond the specialist training they receive as part of their graduate degree program."
